A New Family of Mn4 Complexes

A novel family of tetranuclear MnIII complexes, which all possess an S = 8 spin ground state and easy-axis type magnetoanisotropy, represent a new class of 'exchange-biased single-molecule magnets' where the exchange-bias is contolled by chemical and structural modification.

This work was carried out in the group of Prof. Hans Ulrich Güdel.
